The true family name was Elder-he was ALEXANDER LAWSON ELDER.

He served under the alias of Alexander CROYDON.

45th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

He was 29 and the son of William and Betsy Elder. He is one of some 20 Australian casualties of the Great War who are commemorated on the Kirkcaldy War Memorial.
