Son of George Richard Uhr and Ellen Isabel Godwin formerly Uhr nee Wales of Piccadilly Street, Townsville, QLD. Brother of Reginald Edward Frederick Uhr who returned to Australia on 4 March 1918 having served with the 9th Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 15 May 1919 aboard HT Ypiringa disembarking on 5 July 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
