Australian soldier, Private Joseph William Leahy-Service Number 1051-Killed in Action  09/04/1917- Lagnicourt, France-11th Battalion, C Company, Australian Infantry, A.I.F., was also born here. Both are honoured on the Kilkenny Great War Memorial, Kilkenny Peace Park.
