Son of Edward Hickey and Winifred Hickey nee Forrester  of Waitche, Victoria. Brother of Patrick Hickey who was killed in action on 15 October 1915 and is buried in the Lone Pine Cemetery, ANZAC, Turkey. Plot 1, Row E, Grave 8

Commenced return to Australia on 4 January 1919 aboard HT Morvada disembarked on 20 February 1919

Husband of Eva Elizabeth Hickey nee Scarce. Edward and Eva married in Victoria during 1924c

Other Details:- Left school at twelve and worked as a drover, station hand and skilled bush carpenter. Spent some time with the Aboriginals living in the bush prior to the War. Married Eva Scarce and had four children
