"...1568 Private Patrick O'Connor, 14th Battalion, from Monbulk, Victoria... enlisted on 21 December 1914 and embarked for overseas on 19 February 1915 aboard HMAT Runic. He was captured at Gallipoli on 8 August 1915 and interned in Turkey before being transferred to Austria in December 1917. He arrived in England in February 1918 with his right leg amputated.
