He was 19 and the son of Charles Thomas and Catherine Woodward Wright, of 17 Portland Avenue, Gravesend, England.
He was killed on the first day of the Gallipoli Landings.
He is commemorated on the Orsett War Memorial as D’Arcy Wright-he was born in Orsett.
