"LATE PTE. P. E. WILLIAMS.
Pte. P. E. Williams, only Son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Williams, of Mintaro, was killed in action in France an October 4, the day after his twentieth birthday. He enlisted in the 43rd Battalion on March, 1916, embarked on August 12 for the war, and arrived in England on September 30. From Salisbury Plain he was transferred to France at the end of November. He was attached to the 9th Machine Gun Company. Once wounded, he remained on duty. Deceased was born at Mintaro, and spent practically the whole of his life there. He was of a bright and happy disposition, and was the youngest of a family of six children." - from the Adelaide Observer 10 Nov 1917 (nla.gov.au)
