Theodore Keane was born at Hurtle Vale near Reynella, SA and enlisted in Adelaide on 08 February 1916. At the time he was nearly 19 years old, with a medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, weighed 131lbs (59kg) qnd was 5'6" (166cm) tall. He had four older brothers who also served. Joseph, Frederick Thomas (KIA), Arthur and Wilfred.
Theodore embarked at Adelaide aboard HMAT A48 Seang Bee, on 12 July 1916 with the 3rd/48th Battalion Reinforcements and served on the Western Front from 21 November 1916 until his departure home on 15 July 1919.
In 1925 he married Lily Ada Mason. He lived at Brighton and died on 9 may 1961, aged 63 years.
