Cyril James Roy HOODLESS was born in Westbury, Tasmania on 26th August, 1897
His parents were James Condre HOODLESS & Eva Annie WOODS
He died of wounds in France on 31st May, 1917
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial and a memorial headstone in St Johns Church in Railston, Tasmania in honour of Cyril and his brother Arthur who also died of wounds in the Somme on 25th February, 1917
