IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DEAR SON THY WILL BE DONE
An impressive ceremony was held in Holy Trinity Church, when Canon Walker-Taylor unveiled a memorial tablet presented by the Western Commercial Travellers to the memory of the late Lieut. Claude West, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur .West. The lamented soldier's father is one of the oldest of our western travellers, and an esteemed member of the C.T.A. There was a crowded congregation, comprising about 50 travellers, members of the V.A.Ds., and Digger's Post, and local military units. The tablet, which is of brass, bears the following inscription: — -"In memory Lieut. Claude Bertie West, No. 254, 1st Batt., A.I.F. Enlisted August 8, 1914. Killed in action In France on May 16, 1917. Aged 26. Erected by
the Western Commercial Travellers. For God and Country."
