He was 24 and the son of Margaret McLeod Paton, of 34, Dunnikier Rd., Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and the late Thomas Paton. He is one of some 20 Australian casualties of the Great War who are commemorated on the Kirkcaldy War Memorial.
