Son of John O'Neill and Jane O'Neill nee Bradley of East Street, East Fremantle, WA.
Brother of Thomas O'Neill who returned to Australia on 3 March 1919 having served with the 2nd Tunnelling Company and being a Prisoner of War.
Commenced return to Australia on 3 March 1919 aboard HT Euripides disembarking 10 April 1919
