John Harry Bridgman was born in North Adelaide of Australia in approximately December 1894. He served in World War 1 starting from 1915 to 1918 and was discharged after the War was over. He enlisted on the 23rd of June 1915 and embarked on the 24th of November 1915.

John served in the 6th Field Artillery Brigade. He was gassed on 3rd November 1917 and evacuated to England for recovery; he eventually returned to his unit in late January 1918.

After he was discharged he had earned 3 medals known as the British War Medal, Victory Medal and Star. Before serving in the World War his occupation was as a machinist. It is unknown when he died but he was buried at Centennial Park Cemetery.
