Brother of James Hooke MM who returned to Australia on 13 January 1918 having served with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade and Benjamin Hooke who returned to Australia on 30 September 1919 at his own expense having served with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade

During 1924c Alfred married Doris Mary Adelaide Hill in NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 26 September 1917 aboard HT Borda disembarking 25 November 1917
