Biography

Wounded in action, France 25/7/1916. rejoined from wound 25/12/1916, wounded in action 9/4/1917.

Captured Reincourt, Prisioner of War 11/4/1917, Interned Lau, Germany.

Repatriated Prisoner of War to England 20/1/1918, amputated leg below knee.

Returned to Australia on "Dunluce Castle" 8/4/1918.

"Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Lovell, of Middleton, have been notified that their son, Private B. F. Lovell, No. 924. is a prisoner of war in Germany, and suffering from gunshot wound in leg. He was previously reported wounded." - from the Adelaide Advertiser 23 Jul 1917 (nla.gov.au)
