Son of Michael James and Bridget Jane Lynch of 5 Hall Street, Clifton Hill, Victoria.

Brother of Michael James Lynch who died of illness while serving with the 8th Light Horse Regiment and is buried in the Cairo War Memorial Cemetery, Row M, Grave 180 and also brother of John Clarence Lynch who was wounded while serving with the NZ Army Contingent
