Private George White was born George William Henry White, not the middle name of Harry, as he stated on his Attestation Paper and Service Record.
'PERSONAL.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Evans, Stafford-on-Kedron, have received word that their nephew, Driver G. W. H. White, is returning to Australia by the transport Port Sydney, which left Egypt on March 5. Driver White enlisted in January, 1916. and left for the front in May of the same year with the 14th L.H. He went straight to England, and then on to France. He was severely wounded in the knee, and sent to England. After leaving hospital he went to Egypt, and has been there on active service ever since with the A.A.S.C.' from The Daily Mail 28 Mar 1919 (nla.gov.au)
