Son of George Hicks and Janet Hicks of Digby Road, South Hamilton, Victoria. Brother of George Leslie Hicks who return Australia in 1919 having been held prisoner of war in Germany

Served a three and a half year apprenticeship with Horsham Battery Factory, Horsham, Victoria

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal issued to a Mrs. J. Green
