Son of James Crewe Hoge and Margaret Hoge nee Walsh of Indooroopily, QLD.

Brother of James Crewe Hoge MC who returned to Australia on 27 July 1919 having served with the 9th Battalion and the 1st Machine Gun Battalion and John Kenneth Hoge who returned to Australia during January 1920 having served with the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance and 26th Battalion
