Son of Thomas Deam, of Main St., Bairnsdale, Victoria, Australia, and the late Elizabeth Deam.

Pte. Wiliam Deam, son of Mr T. Deam, Main street, Bairnszdae, was killed at Gallipoli on 29th November last. He was a native of Bairnsdale and was 25 years of age. His elder brother, who is still on active service, was one of the first to go ashore at the  landing at Gallipoli, and has had the good fortune to have escaped so far unscathed. He holds the rank of Sergeant-Major.
