Biography

James David Shepherd was the son of James William Shepherd and Mary Shepherd nee Sainty. His grandparents were William West Shepherd (born Birmingham England 1817) and Jane Phoebe Shepherd nee King (born Dublin Ireland 1836) and James Sainty (born Castle Acres Norfolk England 1822) and Sarah Jane Sainty nee Callaghan (born County Down Ireland 1839). William West Shepherd, convict on ship Surrey in 1842. Jane King, immigrant on ship Caroline Middleton 1854. James Sainty, convict on ship Lord Auckland in 1844. Sarah Jane Callaghan, child of convict Eliza Callaghan on ship Lord Auckland in 1848.
