29 Sep 2018: Honoured Military Cross, Breaching the Hindenburg Line - Cambrai / St Quentin Canal, For gallantry and devotion to duty on 29th September 1918, at Bony, when he was in charge of a party of tunnellers clearing and maintaining a forward road under heavy enemy shell and machine gun fire. Although, owing to infantry being held up heavy casualties were occurring, he carried through the work, and set a fine example of coolness and resourcefulness to those under him.' Awarded the Military Cross for work at Bony
