Mention in Dispatches, Capt. DAVIDSON, W. 'Captain Davidson (Adjutant) remained in the friring line with "A" Company until wounded in the hand on the 25th April. He returned to duty on the 26th and has since been prominent in the firing line and trenches, where his experience and coolness have been invaluable.' (Reported by O.C. 1st Bn.) |

He served for 8 years in the Seaforth Highlanders as an Instructor, then 23 years in the Australian Military Forces.
He was an instructor in Musketry, Signalling, Machine Guns and held a certificate in Field Engineering and Topography.
In October 1914 he was an Honorary Lieutenant and Adjutant, promoted to Captain 18th October 1914 and then Major on 26th April 1915..
He left a widow, Annie McCrone Davidson of Algernon Street, Oatley, NSW, and children, Hugh Alexander Campbell Davidson, James Robert Davidson and daughters Vera Mary and Heather Victoria Davidson.
