Montagu John Durnford

My great uncle "Monty" was the son of Mary Mann and Montagu Hadley Isaacson Felton Durnford. He was born the 10th September 1890. The family lived at Mirani North Queensland. His father was thrown from a horse and died in 1895.


Later his mother married Alfred Pacey, and at the time of enlistment, Montagu took his step-father's name.

The family were living at Ipswich at the time of enlistment.

He served between 1911 and 1913 in the 15th Light Horse, and was a Bugler
