CARPENTER.—In fond memory of our dear brother, Fred, who was killed in action on 7th August, 1915.
'Tis twelve sad months ago to-day
Since dear Fred was killed at Anzac,
We'll still think of the boy
Who left home and all his joy,
To fight on that lonesome track.
—Inserted by his loving brother and sister-in-law, Ern and Violet.

CARPENTER.—In loving memory of my dearly loved son, Private Frederick Thomas Carpenter, who was killed in action at Anzac on 7th August, 1915.
Nearer, yes, nearer, the moments are drawing,
Bringing still closer thy presence to me;
Then, dearest Fred, how welcome the dawning
That seals my reunion for ever with thee.
—Inserted by his sorrowing mother, M. A. Harris.

CARPENTER.—In fond memory of our dear brother, Private Frederick Thomas Carpenter, who was killed in action 7th August, 1915.
Worthy of true respect, was he
From those he left behind;
A better brother could not be
A friend more true and kind.
—Inserted by his loving brothers.

CARPENTER.—In sad but loving remembrance of my dear friend, Private Frederick Thomas, 8th Battalion, 2nd Inf. Brigade, who was reported killed in action at Lone Pine 7th August, 1915.
And none you loved were there, dear Fred,
To hear your last soft sigh,
To breathe a prayer to God above,
Or kiss your lips good-bye.
Now my thoughts they sadly wander,
As the twilight shadows fall,
To those happy days when you were here,
Those days beyond recall.
Sadly missed.
—Inserted by his loving friend, Daisy King, Camberwell.

CARPENTER.—In loving memory of my dear pal, Fred, who was killed in action, Lonesome Pine, 7th August, 1915.
A better mate there never lived
Not one so true and kind:
His equal in this weary world
We very rarely find.
—Inserted by his loving pal, Frank King.
