Born at Souldern, Oxfordshire, England about 1884 (baptised 25.5.1884) to Immanuel James and Annie Maria Lett nee Lake; husband of Daisy Stewart Selina Lett nee Barrett (married 2.11.1911, Edgbaston, King's Norton, Worcestershire, England, died 1950 - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article134389969, also sleeping here), Thomas enlisted September 1914 with the 4th Battalion, Reg No-854, at Broadmeadow, N.S.W.

Admitted to hospital 19.5.1915 (bronchopneumonia), Thomas returned home January 1916 and was discharged as medically unfit.

Thomas’s name has been inscribed on the Wickham Municipal District Roll of Honour (Board 1 - https://vwma.org.au/explore/people/233283) and the Tighes Hill-Australian Holy Catholic Guild Roll of Honour (unveiled on the 8th October 1916, whereabouts unknown, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article133836215).

There is no headstone at Mr Lett’s gravesite to tell us this Original Anzac served with the 1st A.I.F., now long forgotten, so August 2019 I placed a cross adorned with poppies on the gravesite, taken a photo of the grave and uploaded the photo onto the Northern Cemetery website as a permanent record of his service.
