Private Norman Bowman Taylor is one of six brothers. 3 served during the Great War, 2 for Australia and one William Taylor served and died for Canadian forces. Sapper William Taylor served with the 1st Canadian Tunneling Company and was killed on the 3 August 1916 in France.
In 1922 his mother Jane Taylor appears to have been admitted to a mental institution according to documents in the soldier's service records. Most likely the stress of losing three of her sons during the war and and her husband in 1899 played its part.
