The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017 - refer to pages 94+95 and 263. Prior to the war he was a labourer of Gunnedah NSW. He enlisted 28th March 1916 aged 25 years. He served with the 33rd Infantry Battalion and during this service he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal, the Military Medal and was Mentioned in Dispatches. He finished his service with the rank of Sergeant. He departed the UK for home 19 June 1919.
