Son of William Albert Hayes and Alice Esther Hayes of 'Tackbear', Paterson River, NSW formerly of Narrabri, NSW
Husband of Eva Belle Hayes nee McRoberts of Marrickville, NSW. Bramwell and Eva married during 1916
Commenced return to Australia on 3 January 1916 aboard HT Ulysses disembarking on 5 February 1916 at Melbourne having had two fingers amputate at WA while en route. Returned to duty on 24 March 1916
Commenced return to Australia on 11 May 1919 aboard HT Borda disembarking on 22 August 1919
