Son of Allen Vickers and Polly Vickers of Horncastle, Lincolnshire, England.

Husband of Ellen Vickers  nee Roseman of Summer Cottage, Rosalie, QLD. John and Ellen married on 5 July 1917 in QLD.

Commenced return to Australia on 17 October 1918 aboard SS Melusia

Medal: British War Medal was issued by the Navy. Served in Rabaul, New Guinea
