Thomas Overton Hunt aka Thomas Palmer

Thomas Overton Hunt was born in 1891 Derby, Derbyshire to Thomas Overton and Mary Rowley.

Thomas joined the British Royal Navy in August 1908 serving on a number of ships. the last ship he was enlisted on was HMS Drake, when they docked at Sydney Australia 30th November 1911 Thomas decided to do a runner.

Notices were put out in Australian newspapers but he managed to stay unnoticed there for the rest of his life living under the name of Thomas Palmer until his death in 1972.
