Clio Claris Vale DINGLE was born in 1894 in Quirindi, New South Wales
His parents were Benjamin Martin DINGLE who was born in Cornwall, England and Mary Ann ADAMS who married in 1874 in Newcastle upon Tyne in England
His parents arrived in Sydney in 1877 on the ship 'Niveneh' along with two siblings, Elizabeth & Cecelia - they had more children in NSW - Osward Winifred, Vivian Nelson, Volo Vincent & Lance CC DINGLE
Clio enlisted at Liverpool, NSW on 17th July, 1915 with the 13th Battalion - he left Sydney with the 10th reinforcements on the ship HMAT Ballarat on 6th September, 1915
He was Killed in trenches by an exploding shell along with several other soldiers on 30th August, 1916 at Moquet Farm, France
He has no known grave but his name is memorialised at the Australian National Memorial at Villers Bretonneux and the Australian War Memorial
He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medall.
Clios brother Lane Corporal Volo Vincent Adams DINGLE (SN3035) was also Killed at Mouquet Farm, France on 12th August, 1916
