Biography

"...4480 Corporal Harold Henry Clift, 4th Battalion from West Wyalong, NSW. An 18 year old shop assistant with previous service in the 44th Militia Battalion prior to enlisting in the AIF on 18 October 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 14th Reinforcements from Sydney on 3 February 1916 aboard HMAT Wandilla (A52). Following further training in Egypt, he joined the 4th Battalion in Belgium where he was killed in action near Ypres on 11 September 1916. Cpl Clift is buried in the Railway Dugouts Burial Ground, Belgium." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
