'PERSONAL NOTES.

In yesterday's "Courier" a photograph was published of the late Private F. Storey, 15th Battalion, killed in action. It appears that there were two privates of the name of F. Storey in the 15th Battalion. The one who was unfortunately killed is understood to have been a New Zealander who enlisted in Queensland. The other (Fred. Storey) is a son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Storey, of Bulimba, and is they have not received any advice concerning him it is assumed, of course, that he is safe and sound.' from The Brisbane Courier 4 Jun 1915 (nla.gov.au)

Within two months of the above story being reported in The Brisbane Courier, 199 Corporal Frederick Storey was also killed in action whilst serving with the 15th Battalion at Gallipoli.

'MEMORIAL PULPIT DEDICATED.

MORNINGSIDE, October 4.
On Sunday the Anglican Bishop Coadjutor of Brisbane dedicated a memorial pulpit in St. John the Baptist Church, Bulimba. There was a large congregation. Before the ceremony the bishop solemnly offered at the altar a handsomely bound lectern Bible, the gift of the honorary lay reader of the parish (Mr. W. D. Harding), and it was then placed on the lectern. Evensong was sung, and after the second lesson the bishop, with his attendants, accompanied by the vicar as chaplain, proceeded to the body of the church, and dedicated the pulpit to the glory of God and in loving memory of Corporal Frederick Storey. The pulpit is a beautiful piece of work of silky oak, and a brass plate bears the following inscription:- "To the glory of God, and in loving memory of Corporal Frederick Storey, who gave his life in Gallipoli for King and country, 8th August, 1915. The gift of his parents. R I.P." from The Brisbane Courier 6 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
