Son of William Fox and Elizabeth Lucy Fox nee Ekers of Kelp Street, Warrnambool, Victoria. Brother of Henry James Fox who returned to Australia on 20 May 1919 having served with the 4th Field Artillery Brigade

Commenced return to Australia 24 June 1916 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on the 22 July 1916

During 1910 Adam married Sarah Lavinia Wallace Cumming. Sarah died at Warrnambool during 1910

During 1918 Adam married Julia Pickett in Victoria
