Biography

Embarkation Roll (www.awm.gov.au) had incorrectly listed soldier with SERN 4843 - it should be SERN 4643

Herbert John Sullivan was one of 10 children born to William Adams Sullivan and Harriet nee Woodings, who lived in Coromandel Valley for many years before moving to Blackwood. Herbert's younger brother Harrold "Jim" Sullivan enlisted in 1914, and was killed in 1917. Herbert married May Florence Harris in London in 1917 and returned to Australia 4 December 1919.
