Son of William Hans Olsen and Margaret Jane Greenwood formerly Olsen nee Moore of Bowen Vale, Maryborough, Victoria.
On 20 January 1917 Arthur married Ethel Muriel O'Kinnes, of Little Road, Fulham Cross, London, England, in St. Augustines Church, Fulham, London, England. E. Fowning Pollock officiated.
