* his NAA WWI records (4158) are amalgamated under his WWII number (S213026)
* he was born Lisle Percy Gilmore LINDSAY on 5 March 1897 at Alberton with parents Albert Edward and Amelia Priscilla LINDSAY
* he enlisted as 4158 Lyell Percy Gilmore on 1 September 1915 aged 18 years 5 months (consistent with his date of birth), giving his place of birth as Alberton, his mother Amelia Priscilla LINDSAY as NOK, and with written permission from AE and AP LINDSAY as his parents
* before repatriation he married Mattie Alberta PITMAN in the UK, and the marriage certificate says Lionel rather than Lyell
* he enlisted as S213026 Lionel Percy Gilmore LINDSAY on 3 January 1940 giving his date of birth as 5 March 1897 (Alberton) and his NOK as Mattie LINDSAY
