Biography contributed by Port Lincoln High School

Clive Moulden De Mole was born on the 8th of May 1886 to William and Emily Moulden in Kew, Victoria.

He first enlisted on the 9th of September 1914 in the Australian Imperial Force in Helena Vale Western Australia, with the 11th Infrantry Battalion, service no. 216. The battalion left Fremantle Western Australian on the HMAT Ascanius on the 2nd of November 1914.

After being at war for almost 9 months, Clive was wounded at the battle of Gallipoli. He suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm, which caused a serious fracture. He spent three months in an army hospital before being invalided back to Australia on the 18th of March 1916.

Once he had healed, he was transferred to the 43rd infrantry battalion, which left Fremantle on the 9th of November 1916 on HMAT Argyllshire, and his service number changed to 2518.

He was then promoted to second lieutenant on the 1st of January 1919, but didn't participate in any more battles.
