    30 Aug 1916: Transferred AIF WW1, 26 Infantry Battalion AMF, On this day William is transferred to the 26th Battalion based at Enoggera Barracks in Brisbane.

    15 Aug 1918: Promoted AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 26th Infantry Battalion, After recovering from his wounds, William rejoined his unit in France 26/06/18. He was then promoted to Lance Corporal on 15/08/18.
    15 Apr 1919: Promoted AIF WW1, Corporal, 26 Infantry Battalion AMF, On Jan 29th 1919 William is sent to the 17th AASC (services Corps) France. On Apr 15th he is promoted to Temporary Corporal.
    16 Nov 1919: Discharged AIF WW1, Corporal, 26 Infantry Battalion AMF, On this day William's service record is stamped T.P.E. which means termination of period of enlistment. Finally he is a civilian again.
