Military Medal
'During the operations on the morning of 15th April near LAGNICOURT, this N.C.O. acted as platoon commander and had his men well in hand during the whole of the operations. The duty devolved uponk him to clear the village of LAGNICOURT of the enemy. This he did in a thorough and systematic manner. He went through the village and established his platoon on a line about 1000 yards in front of the village and got in touch with the company on his left. His reports sent to Headquarters showing his position were concise and clear and greatly helped as to the disposition of the rest of the Company. He showed great dash and courage and led his men well by his own personal example.'
