Son of Thomas Upham and Sarah Jane Upham nee Hoare of Leake Street, Victoria Park, WA.
During 1921c Gordon married Dorothy Gladys Stephens in Perth, WA
21 June 1915 - enlisted at Perth, WA with the 10th Light Horse Regiment with the rank of Private
9 March 1916 - transferred to the 51st Battalion as Trumpeter
15 April 1916- transferred to the 10th Light Horse Regiment with the rank of Trooper
2 February 1918 - transferred to the Army Medical Corps
19 February 1918 - transferred to the 2nd Australian Stationery Hospital
17 August 1919 - return to Australia aboard HT Duluce Castle
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
16 October 1919 - discharged at the 5th Military District
