LCpl WALKER, ALBERT ERNEST
From Sue Guinan – The Great War 1914-1918
Born 1895 Lilydale Tasmania the son of Henry and Mary Christina Walker (nee Dornauf) a farm labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He spent 3 years in the 92nd Infantry Company and was appointed Lance Corporal 21st July1918 He died 1st September 1918 at the 9th Field Ambulance in France from shell wounds to the chest and abdomen. and is commemorated in the Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, Daours, Somme,France
