Harry served with the 16th Battalion at Gallipoli until 17 September 1915. He then spent a few weeks at No.3 General Hospital at Lemnos with influenza and rheumatism, rejoining his unit on 21 October. Enteric fever and debility resulted in hospitalisation on H.S.Soudan for 16 days before being transferred to Ricasoli Military Hospital at Malta on 26 December. Harry continued his service in the Middle East, which was punctuated by several bouts of rheumatism treated in hospital until the war’s end. He returned to Australia on board the City of Exeter on 12 July1919 and was discharged on 21 October.

Harry Alec Parsons was born in Mount Torren, South Australia on 13th December 1985. His occupation job was as a gardener before enlisting. Harry was a single person and didn’t have a wife/partner before the war. He didn’t have any military service on his record. Harry had a mother named Emily Ann Parsons who lived in Paradise, South Australia. No other information family information was found. Harry Alec Parsons address/hometown was Minneford, Parkside, South Australia, Campbelltown, South Australia. 

Harry Alec Parsons enlisted on 6th March 1915, to Keswick, South Australia. He was part of the 16th Infantry Battalion. The unit embarked from Adelaide, South Australia, on board HMAT A61 Kanowna on 24 June 1915. He wasn’t posted to any units instead he just served in the same unit there during the war. He used to work in a band with people in his unit. Harry didn’t get sick and wasn’t in the hospital. Harry was wounded but not killed during the war.
