Biography contributed by John Edwards

"SOLDIER'S BRAVERY - Gunner Cedric Noel Alsop, A.A.A., son of Captain F. C. Alsop (a cousin of Mr. F. N. H. Atkyns, of Echuca), has been awarded the Millitary Medal for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. "Acting as medical orderly to his battery, he carried out his duties with untiring effort under most trying conditions. His fearlessness and unfailing attention to the wounded and his behavior under heavy shellfire set a splendid example to all present, and earned for him the highest esteem of his comrades." Captain Alsop is now serving in Palestine. Another of his sons has recently joined the A.I.F." - from the Riverine Herald 12 Aug 1918 (nla.gov.au)
