His record shows that he was born in Longford, near Perth Tasmania however in the AWM Circular his mother wrote only that he was born in Perth, which has since been confused with Perth Western Australia

Son of Joseph Evans and Esther Evans(later known as Esther Bennett of Westbury, Tas.
