Patrick Francis Leo Meaney was born on 22 Dec 1896 in Kapunda, South Australia, Australia, the son of Michael Joseph and Mary Ann Kearns. He was one of eight children, and had six sisters, Margaret Mary, Bridget Eileen, Agnes, Kathleen Olive, Ellen Teresa, Mary Stephnie, and one brother, Michael John.
 
He married Mildred Olga Walker on 25 August 1928 in the St Paul's Anglican Church, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Sadly, his first child, Patricia, died when only ten weeks old. Their other children wer Max, Neville, Lance and Jillian.

For a time, he was employed by the Commonwealth Public Service as a Technician in the Postmaster-General's Department of New South Wales, Australia but it isn't clear if he actually liveesd in NSW.

Patrick died at Glenelg, South Australia, Australia and was buried in the St Jude's Anglican Cemetery, Brighton, South Australia, Australia.
