Son of Malcolm Urquhart and Mary Jane Urquhart nee Charlton of Foster, Victoria.
13 July 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 29th Battalion and with the rank of Private.
1 August 1916 - promoted to Lance Corporal
6 February 1917 - promoted to Corporal
