Son of Alice Harvey of 37 Gladstone Road, Prospect, SA

His mother Alice says of him... "An athletic member Prospect Football and Cricket Club. Also member of the Freemason Base Ball Club. Member of amalgamated society of engineers and very popular."

Prior to enlisting he was employed with J. S. Bagshaw of Adelaide for 5 years
