Maurice Frederick Carr was my great uncle and Walter Thomas Carr my grandfather. In 2012 we made contact with the English side of the family when Virginia Peace the daughter of Alice Carr (Maurice & Walter's sister) searched to find our location and names through a private eye. My son Jacob and I went to England in 2013 and met Virginia and a number of our family members in England.

Maurice Frederick Carr

Maurice was in the Fire brigade and came from England with his brother Walter Thomas Carr. These brothers were full of passion for life and both went into the fire-brigade as their father was in the fire-brigade in England. Maurice enlisted in 2014 and went off to Gallipoli and died in active service on the 25th of April 1915. A very sad day for his brother Walter Thomas Carr who enlisted after the death of his brother and fought in the Western Front in France in world war 1. The family in England was shattered and his mother heart broken.
